Isabella was at the office again on Friday so we took some time off to play with her and of course, we HAD to watch the little mermaid to make it clear how awesome we were.
Isabella: Do you like Ursula in this movie?
Ursula: Not really, but I LOVE her make-up!

The Little Mermaid
At this very moment I am very jealous of one of our fellow interns. Samantha, that lucky duck, was in Orlando, Florida at Hollywood studios for a short little vaca. At this vaca she got to see Ariel and myself perform. And by perform I mean sing in front of a live audience. And by Ariel and I, I mean some people much more talented than ourselves in an Ariel and Ursula costume. NOW you can see why I'm so jealous. Here are some of her pictures of the momentous occasion!

Broadway at Bryant Park
We went on a HOT adventure today. We sat in the middle of Bryant Park where the 90 degree heat was shining bright on our faces. But it was worth it because we got to see little previews of broadway shows including Baby It's You and Stomp!
Ariel thought it would be cute to hang out with some of the characters of Zarkana like this lovely ballerina who happily posed for her picture.
Everyone was entranced by the gaggle of actors and performers that walked about the park enchanting the bystanders that innocuously stared upon them.
We think they were half porcelain doll, half fairy and all hot and sweaty. I mean, it was HOT outside and we have NO idea how they managed to stay in character with the sun pounding down on them. Zarkana knows how to stay in character!
Not even Ariel was immune to the heat!
SHOES! Let's take a moment to check out these shoes. I am obsessed!
I mean, clearly. I wore them with a dress that doesn't even go with them...I was just that excited.
Never been to Broadway at Bryant Park? You HAVE to go! It's easy, fun, and you'll get a tan. I promise,

Visitors at King
Princess Belle came with Keri's mom and in-laws to the office today and we had a little fun while they were shopping around our showroom (p.s. the sample sale is still going on!). Here is some of the silliness that took place.

Performance of the Week.
Friday it was just us two in the office, and we got a lot of work done, but of course we had to make it fun. We decided we needed a little break so here are the results. We hope you enjoyed the long weekend!

Playing Dress Up
Today at King we have an absolutely fabulous sample sale. And as with all sample sales, your favorite Disney characters decided to try on some of the clothes. Our lovely fellow intern Katrina took the photographs as Ariel and myself tried our very best to be models. Credit for trying? Obviously.
We may or may not have also gotten a little carried away with Photoshop...and by carried away I mean we only used it on the background, never any retouching on ourselves!
Come by 530 Fashion Ave, Suite 2804 if you want to come shop around!
As always, if you want to hear about our shenanigans as they happen please follow us on twitter @kingcollective!

We had a late night last night. Yesterday was Zelda's 95th birthday celebration held at the Gramercy Park Hotel Rooftop Terrace. Things were fabulous. Especially the cupcakes, let's not forget about the cupcakes. They were amazing!! Crumbs Bake Shop, check it out pleaseee.
On another note, our level of delirium resulted in this video. Please enjoy as always:
It's us with the two new King Collective interns Sam and Katrina.
Got distracted from assisting the photographer...
This is our definition of wonderland, thank you CRUMBS!

Fiesta, Ole! Birthday bonanza!
This past weekend was something that movies are made from. And by movies I mean The Hangover 3 happened this weekend and someone should have filmed the shenanigans that happened around the city.
Let me preface this entire post by saying that June 9, 2011 was my 21st birthday. See, now you know why this weekend was just a wee bit cray cray. In the best way possible of course. The lovely Ariel knew it was my birthday and brought me a little present in the shape of a Disney Princess balloon.
See? I wasn't kidding. What a good blogger partner. Minus the fact that she took a picture of me when my hair looked that THAT. Oh so precious, but it was my birthday so let's let it slide, shall we? As a disney princess myself (villain, princess, same thing) I was clearly excited about this. My birthday continued to improve when King Royalty (aka my bosses) came in with cupcakes. MINI cupcakes. LOTS of mini cupcakes that came in all sorts of flavors. They looked a little like this:THEY WERE DELICIOUS. Yes I ate the majority of them, but hey, it's my birthday! I think that allows me to indulge a bit, no? There's only one answer to that :). These are cupcakes from Baked by Melissa and I must say that a PB&J cupcake is more than necessary to ones daily routine. What a delicassy.
Later that day I went to dinner with K, my sister. It was a nice little dinner with some nice Mexican food and banging Mexican drank. Mojito? Yes please. Legal alcohol? Yes please! Not that there is any other kind...Anyways, our dinner was a delight and I thouroughly enjoyed myself. I mean, who can't when the place is decorated like this?!
After dinner I raced home to my roomies, S and T, or who I so lovingly refer to as The Gays. The Gays are great fun and know how to celebrate. On my way back to my little apartment I thought I might stop by and pick up some Alcohol at the liquor store across from my house. I'm 21, it is something I must do. Well, apparently NY has some very interesting laws in place that completely and utterly broke my heart. Apparently in NY you cannot buy alcohol until the day AFTER your 21st birthday. Umm, what?
WHO DOES THAT? THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! I JUST WANT MY LIQUOR! AH, ok I'm breathing now. Clearly I'm not over it. After the clerk ripped my heart out (read: saved my liver) and tore it to shreds I dramatically exclaimed that I would never buy my liquor there ever (let's see how long that pans out) and I couldn't believe that they were doing this to me on my birthday. I put on my sassy pants (which reappear this weekend as you will see) and sashayed out of there like the birthday girl that I was.
This is what I came home to:
And
The Gays provided me with pink champagne, pink cupcakes, musicals, a dance party and acceptance. I drank up, ate up, shook my bootay, and sang my heart out to the likes of Phantom of the Opera. When I say they accepted me I mean they allowed me to sing (read: scream) the Aria to Christine's "Think of Me". You know, the part where she goes, "Think o-oo-o-ooo-oo-oo-ooo-oo-oo-o-o-o-o-oOFFFFF Meeeeeeeeeeeee." Obviously it was in that moment where I knew they were the best roommates ever because I have THE WORST VOICE EVER and they still smiled at me as if it were Emmy time and I was Beyonce performing. I WISH.
In honor of my name we also all sang "Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World." Things got really serious up in this place real fast, I swear our trio would have been the next youtube sensation had this been caught on camera. I can see Simon Cowell shaking his head at us already.
The next day my birthday festivities went on with a few gal pals from my school for an unscheduled little din din. I went back to the liquor store that so harshly denied me on my birthday and purchased some alcohol. Look, I have my pride but there is something to be said about convenience and this place is 10 paces (paces?? who says that anymore...) across from my apartment. I had to go. A couple of us (all of us) drank a little before our dinner and ended up being late to the whole state of affairs. Our drink of choice for the night was sangria. A lot of sangria. Multiple pitchers of sangria. I could tell you what followed but instead I will just show you a few pictures that might demonstrate where I was as a person:
So when a friend of mine decides to buy me a rose I decide that it needs to go into my mouth...of course.
But look I took the flower out of my mouth (even though I still look like I want to eat it)! Maybe I realized that roses are not part of the essential food groups?
NOPE, I took it out to better shake my body. OF COURSE. #typical. Sloshfest 2011 was aggressive in all sorts of ways and it makes me so happy to think back to these moments that are vague vague memories in my mind. The party continued as soon as we left the restaurant (oh yea, all that dancing took place INSIDE A RESTAURANT). Willow Smith would be so proud of the hair whippage action that was happening all over the place. The fun continued to bars where we all met boys and exchanged numbers. Per usual. Oh birthday, you are just too fabulous.
The following night continued with another dinner at this little BYOB called Ivo and Lulus. It's this TINY little itsy bitsy restaurant in Soho which is precious and amazing. The food is French/Caribbean and was ridiculously fantastic. FANTASTIQUE!! This is what happens when you mix wine and friends:
Innocent?
Never! Ariel also reminded me of my amaaazing rendition of Kanye West's "Monster" which I performed at dinner. Let's think about this, I rapped Monster at a restaurant, in front of people, at an obnoxiously loud level. Clearly the public does not stop me but rather spurs me to outdo myself to greater heights of embarrassment. I am the guy in the park playing chess against himself. Well, CHECK MATE SELF.
Per usual our #winning party proceeded to some more bars and the night even included a LIMO ride (I could not even make this up) and some hilariously written late night texts. Some sassy texts too (Sassy Pants BACK on) which were great fun to read in the morning.
After this non-stop continuous weekend of party partying I had to find a way to survive the weekend. AKA on Sunday I did not leave the appartment (I barely left my bed) and ordered delivery subway (a footlong, obviously) and a medium Papa Johns pizza (all to myself) as well as three cupcakes from Magnolia's Bakery. I shared none of it and enjoyed my all day siesta.
Do you have any good weekend stories?? Think you can out do mine?? Tweet us @kingcollective and tell us all about it!

FIlm Festival
Ok so let's talk about the Gen Art Film Festival. Ursula was sent to meet Keri in the blasting city heat. When she finally found the theatre-they told us it was on 43rd but she discovered it was actually 44th- she had to stand in line to get tickets for everyone and as she stood there she texted me and Keri simultaneously. As it was bound to happen, she sent Keri the text she meant to send me and it said "It's soo hot fuuuck my life!" Good job Ursula :)
But we all have our embarrassing moments, and for mine, we don't even need words...
Yes. I somehow managed to make that face.
So after testing out pretty much every seat in the theater, we finally all got to sit together (we were with Wanderlust, Mia Morgan, and other King people/friends). We even got better seats than Shenae Grimes!
The screening was funny. Ursula kept laughing and at one point I whispered "you have such an evil laugh" and she said, "well, I am Ursula..."It's true though, her laugh does live up to her name sometimes.
